Engelberg
Plain and simple, Engelberg is a place to ski or snowboard. I came here on my first trip with the Frankfurt International Ski Club with a group of friends and had a blast. Our hotel was in Lucerne, about a 35 minute bus ride from the slopes. After the first day of boarding I did manage to snap a few pictures of the town before it got dark, which was on the opening day of Karneval (Euro Mardi Gras for those of you scoring at home). One of the largest peaks there has a famous revolving gondola that allows for some impressive scenery. Although it was prime ski season when I was there, I saw plenty of Asian tourists there just to take the ride up and snap pictures. Although Switzerland is an amazing place to ski or board, don't expect much of an Aprés ski party scene. The Swiss seem to just go home after a day on the slopes, unlike the Austrians.
