Ischgl

This is how it's supposed to be. If you like winter sports, go to Ischgl. Ischgl is a very posh little Alpine ski town that just happens to be next to some of the best runs in all of Austria. The facilities are state of the art - they've poured $100 million into the lift systems in the last 10 years, and can handle over 70,000 skiers and snowboarders per hour (some of the chair lifts are for 10 people). Hearing those numbers, you'd think it would be insanely crowded on the slopes - but it's not. The runs are so wide and numerous you will never have any problems with crowds. I was here on Christmas day along with tens of thousands of other people, and I never waited longer than one minute for a lift.

Please note the following: Ischgl is known to have one of the best Aprés ski party scenes in Europe, so bring your party hat.
