Laax
Okay, I don't even know if I need to give any explanations or elaborations about these Swiss ski-towns. They're all the same - perfectly clean, incredibly expensive, and surrounded by breathtaking mountains. This was a weekend trip again made with the Frankfurt International Ski Club. Get on the bus in Frankfurt on Friday after work, and after everyone finishes torturing eachother with round after round of random shots, you eventually end up in Switzerland. The Laax Flims area is known to be particularly kind to snowboarders (not too many uphill sections of runs). We definitely found it to be just that, rarely having to unstrap our boards.
The weather the first day was terrible - complete flat-light (everything is white, you are completely disoriented and can't even tell if you're moving or not). I couldn't get one picture. The fresh powder that was falling was great, just too bad you couldn't tell where you were going. I fell off a 2 meter little cliff because of this, but who cares, it was funny. The second day we were rewarded with incredible weather. The Swiss only hit the slopes when the weather is perfect (as it was), so the crowds on Sunday were terrible. But when you're in a place so perfect, it really doesn't matter.
