Normandy
Normandy is the northwest region of France, which covers the coast adjacent to Great Britain. The region is best known for the D-Day landings that took place here in WWII, but there is much else to see in this scenic area of France. Most notable of the pictures I have included below are of Mont St .Michel, a towering Benedictine monastery built in the middle of a desolate beach. The whole complex is enormous, and blows you away that such a structure is built in seemingly the middle of nowhere. The first two pictures are of Le Pont de Normandie, one of the largest suspension bridges in the world.
