Strasbourg

Strasbourg is a very romantic town near the German border famous for its enormous cathedral, which you will be able to see long before you actually arrive in town. The best part of this town is a section called Petite France - filled with crooked little cobblestone roads, old bridges, and scenic cafes overlooking the river. This place gets overrun with tourists, so try to visit early or late in the season. Strasbourg is also known for its Christmas Market, heralded as one of the best in Europe. You will also find a number of chocolatiers, drop by and sample the goods if you can. And if you don't speak French, you can also get by with German here.
