World Cup

These are some photos I took in Germany during the 2002 World Cup to show those of you outside of Europe the hysteria and excitement that surrounds the World Cup. I would compare it to having the Super Bowl everyday for a month. People skip work all the time to watch the games on TV, and many offices, including the one I was working in, showed the games on big screens. Living in downtown Frankfurt, you could always tell when a game was over because a caravan of people from that country would be driving around the city honking their horns waving their flags around - it's hilarious. I took the first two pictures here in Munich, at the Chinese Tower Biergarten during the final between Brazil and Germany (game was shown on big screens). The others were taken in downtown Frankfurt just after Germany had won their semi-final game.

Highlights: Constant hysteria for one month
Things You'll Notice: Soccer comes first, then family, then work
